Now that I have gotten some sleep...
And NO.... none of the silence has ANYTHING to do with the possibility of Glenn Beck coming to our event. If Glenn wants to come, once we confirm it, all of you will be the first to know.
We are trying to update agendas, committee heads/members, and get more up-to-date information out.
We appreciate everything that all of you have suggested and inputted. We are collating information and making sure that everything is accurate, so please give us time.

A moment to recover, please
I'm tired but happy--KSLR's Adam McManus is interested in supporting the Tea Party. He offered some good suggestions during our meeting. He gave us over two hours of his time.
Much goes on that you don't see. I spend an hour every morning plus one to two every evening just responding to email. Eric has been bombarded with phone calls. Others you don't see (refer to the Who's Who page) are all scurring about, answering phone calls from the non-Internet crowd and going to meetings. Phone calls take time. Meetings take time. Prep for meetings takes time.
So, if our responses are not instant, please consider that our faces may be planted on our keyboards in exhausted slumber. When we know anything definite, it goes here. Keep an eye out.
hope you like the newest, more non-partisan design! This isn't a partisan thing--BOTH major parties need to wake up and listen. God Bless you all for standing up to make them hear.
Video of phone conversation is uploading.
Audio of the Glenn Beck Call
We are working all avenues. Please be patient.
If anyone can get through to Joe Pags toay, that would be great.
I finally need to get some sleep/rest.

Here is the spot that Glenn Beck played on his show.
EDIT: HIGHER RES Now posted
Again, as a reminder: WE HAVE NO CONFIRMATION OR INFORMATION ABOUT GLENN COMING TO SAN ANTONIO.
Granted, we would love for him to come, and we are working out details and plans for any possible event.
STAY TUNED!!

Captain Raven, I give you the conn...
So I hand the commanders chair back to one of the original founders out the SA Tea Party, Robin Juhl.
He has access to the email, but not necessarily the voicemail. So continue to use the contact form for emails or email him directly here. (ranten.n.raven@sbcglobal.net) Also keep in mind that he has duties and responsbilities as well (family, kids, personal time), and he is older than me, so don't stress him out too much (Just kidding, Robin)
Just a reminder, Glenn's show with the promo video will rebroadcast at 1 a.m on the FNC (CH 360 on DirectTV).
And we have the meet up as mentioned above at the Lighthouse Cafe off of Stone Oak at 5 p.m..
God Bless... stay strong... and we will prevail.
EDIT - 10:08 p.m.: I just now saw Robin's post below... he pretty much covered somethings I wanted to cover.
The 29 Mar 09 Meeting
Everyone just calm down
We refuse to play the rumor game and until we hear from someone directly related to Glenn's staff, I will ask everyone to just calm down. We have settled on Raymond Russell Park for the gathering as long as nothing else happens. More details about that later.
We are honored that Glenn played the promo video which has now lead to the melting of the inbox and phone line, the increased donations, and the expansion of the mailing list. This was totally unexpected and we are so humbled by it.
So I would suggest that everyone step back, take a deep breath, and be patient. I - Eric - haven't even seen what Glenn has done yet, but I will know by tommorow morning (he is repeated at 1 a.m. CST on FNC [Channel 360 on Direct TV]) , and I will post it here.
Just as an FYI - I will be doing my "main job" tomorrow and will be doing video coverage of a wedding, so I will probably not be back in action or able to respond to emails or voicemails until Sunday.
Featured on Glenn Beck?
I am trying to confirm this becuase the sweet Tiffany called me, and said that it was. I was so busy working on things, that I didn't DVR it.
If someone has it...PLEASE YOUTUBE IT or at least WMV it and contact us!!!!
This has greater implications than you can think!!!
Venue Selection Close
STAY TUNED!!
Venue Questions
This is getting huge (THANKS GLENN IF YOU ARE READING!!), and we have got to have four things:
1. Space
2. Facilities (Bathrooms, etc)
3. Parking
4. Location
We don't want people being squeezed in like sardines.
We gotta have restroom facilities.
We got to have parking.
And we don't necessarily need to be in the Downtown Area. (However, all signs are pointing that that's where we are going to be)
We have many feelers out there. We are working diligently. STAY TUNED
T-Shirts
took the liberty of making a few t-shirt designs.

They are marked up only by $2, and all proceeds will go to the Tea Party.

Updated Site
All of Robin's older posts have been put here.
Robin is going to be very busy over the next week. So I am going to assume control of much of the website communications.
1. We are getting close to nailing down a site. We had a conference call (thanks Eric & Eric & Paula!) and prioritized what locations we will try to get. Slight chance of good news by tomorrow, definite news (good or bad) by Sunday's meeting. I hope. Sigh.
2. I am SWAMPED with emails. Sent 11 responses this morning before work and 39 more this evening. Plus the conference call, plus life. I add each email to the mail list for sending the eventual good news updates. BE PATIENT, please, if I have missed yours.
3. Look over the Things That Need Doing page and decide how you can help. When I get those "I want to help with X" emails, I forward them to the appropriate committee head. Please do NOT send me a "keep me informed" email. Them I have in a plenty from those who don't know about the web site.
4. Kudos again to Eric for setting up the conference call and to the Paula and the other Eric for taking the time to call in and make thoughtful and WISE comments.
5. Just wait until you see Eric's video! (Coming soon to a web site near you!)
6. The mighty Eric has set up SATEAPARTY.INFO to point to this site. Easier to remember and pass on--you do tell people about this, don't you?!!
7. (a morning-after update--I was tired last night) For those who don't know Julia (AKA: Sgt Mom), see her lastest post at NCObrief.com: I'll Take Mine with a Splash of Schadenfreude on the Side. Julia--ever done any speech writing? I call dibs! Also know that the mighty Eric is spending a lot of time on this to the detriment of his business, Micha-Angel Productions.
The other Eric is working hard today to secure a site. The other Eric is a lawyer -- I told you there were good-guy lawyers.
Paula and friends have been living on the phone lately. There's a lot of activity you don't see, but it IS happening!

By the way -- since The Lighthouse Coffee and Cafe (the one on 1604) has been kind enough to allow us to meet there, do come hungry. The cinnamon scone and hot Darjeeling tea I had (of course!) were both scrumptious.

Executive Committee Meeting Report
VENUE: The Alamo Plaza is out. If we were on the Fiesta committe, we wouldn' allow a protest in our area. Therefore, in priority order, we are trying for (1) The IRS office on Tesoro Drive; (2) The Immigration Office at 410 & I-35; and Brackenridge Park in, like Brackenridge Park. Other ideas if we get are the Main Post Office on Perrin Beitel (???--not familiar with it myself) and asking Cornerstone Church for permission to use their parking lot.
SPEAKERS: We have decided NOT to have any sitting politicians as speakers. (My apologies to those approaching folks like Cornyn and Corte on our behalf). We are approaching some media folks. If you know of a NON-POLITICIAN speaker, please let us know!
$$$ & PATRONS: We may need support from someone with deep pockets. Eric and Jeanette will approach some possible sponsors. Eric & Robin (me) will work up using a Pay-Pal link where folks could shoot a small donation to us using a credit card. We may also need to set up a 503-C corp. Jeanette will look into that, plus a lawyer (yes, there ARE "good-guy" lawyers!) who just popped up, so I'll be pointing him to her. We also need a letterhead. We are "The San Antonio Tea Party."
SOUND SYSTEM: Both Eric and Ryan know folks with sound systems who may possibly be interested in helping. Any others?
TELECONFERENCING: Eric will get the committe set up so we can do phone meetings, What a GREAT idea!
SAFTEY: Paula and Dee know some Fierman who may be willing to be on hand for the event.
NEXT COMMITTE MEETING: 5 PM, Sunday 29 March at the same location (The Lighthouse Coffee and Cafe)
. . . and of course,I probably forgot something. If so, will one of the committee members please let me know?

Letter of the Day
I'm glad to see someone has stepped up to start the planning of the Tea Party. I'm a wife of a retired active duty Air Force member. We proudly served our country for over 21 years and certainly don't agree with how things are presently going. I believe if we start making definite plans for the Tea Party on April 15th we can get the support. . . . However, at the present time we are missing the four most important elements to make our Tea Party successful: how, when where, and what. We are understand all too well the reason why. I would suggest we plan on meeting on the grounds of the Alamo downtown, the cradle of Texas Independence at about 4:00 p.m. If we need a permit for the gathering I'm willing to volunteer to pick it up at City Hall.. I would like to see if we could arrange the re-enactment of the fall of the Alamo by the actors. We need to see if we can get some speakers for the gathering. We need to get some churches interested in helping us out for the gathering because they can provide the microphone system. Maybe we could arrange some singers and bands for the gathering. I'm also thinking the VFW and the American Legion are two organizations that would probably be willing to help us out. However, the first things we need to decide on are the place and time to meet, and then we can start advertising for the support of the organizations. We should have a meeting sometime this week at a restaurant for anyone interested in being in on the organization of the major events.

Let's have a BIG turnout!
Our self-appointed "Masters" have decided to squander all in the name of their power. They would beggar our great-great-grand children so that they might have a bit more money and power today.
