The San Antonio Tea Party holds it's big meetings about every other month, usually on the first Sunday, at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch, 13715
FM 1560 N, Helotes, 78023 (Click here for a map). Keep an eye HERE or the SATP calendar for updates! Consider also attending a neighborhood group--that's where the action is!
Our involvement in Lybia is a mess. The President's speech did nothing to change that.
There are major
questions that should all be answered with a resounding "Yes!" before we attack another country. Some of them
are:
Is this action necessary for our security (respond to or prevent an imminent attack)?
Is this the
best time to do this action?
Will this action advance "our interests?"
Will the death of US military
members be worth it?
Of course, the answer is a resounding "No!" to all of these.
1.
Libya was no threat. "Kadaffy Duck" had been thoroughly cowed by what happened to Saddam. "Come
and take my WMDs," he said. So, we did!
2. The best time to do this was weeks ago. Now, it may
be too late. There are US "boots on the ground" right now. Not soldiers (yet), but CIA. "Military
Advisors" may soon follow. Been there; done that.
3. Advance our interests? Hah! Turns
out some rebel leaders are very experienced. From fighting the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yeah, that's
nice, eh? Welcome to the Al Qaeda Air Force, sergeant...now get that F-15 loaded.
4. Uh, just ... no.
My Lord, there is no "Good Side" in this fight. We've just picked one of the bad sides. How moral
is that? How worth American lives? That's measured in negative numbers.
BUT --
America
is now engaged in the conflict. What does it tell our possible-future-allies and possible-future-enemies (who are one
in the same in too many cases) about how well we can be trusted to keep our promises if we pull out? Who then is the
"weak horse?"
BUT --
John Kerry supports this. That's usually a bad indicator. A REAL
bad indicator.
Yeah, it's a mess. Thanks, Mr. President! Thanks, Madam Secretary Clinton!
There was a rash of female teachers who abused young boys getting just token slaps on the wrist compared to what a man
would get (i.e., JAIL time!) Why is that? Many surmised it was because they were so good looking.
This knot-head,
who abused a 13-year-old boy doesn't meet that standard. She may not be everybody's definition of ugly, but
she's nobody's example of beauty.
Things may not be going well in Egypt. Remember all those young people wanting freedom? Even The NY Times has taken notice:
Islamist Group Is Rising Force in a New Egypt
CAIRO — In post-revolutionary
Egypt, where hope and confusion collide in the daily struggle to build a new nation, religion has emerged as a powerful political
force, following an uprising that was based on secular ideals. The Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group once banned by the state, is at the forefront, transformed into a tacit partner with the military government
that many fear will thwart fundamental changes.
It is also clear that the young, educated secular activists who initially
propelled the nonideological revolution are no longer the driving political force — at least not at the moment.
We were told by the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, General Clapper, not to worry about the brothers
in beards because they were mostly secular, back in February:
“The term ‘Muslim Brotherhood’…is an umbrella term for a variety of movements,
in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as
a perversion of Islam,” Clapper said. “They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in
Egypt, et cetera…..In other countries, there are also chapters or franchises of the Muslim Brotherhood, but there
is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally.”
The Brotherhood uses
the slogan, “Islam is the answer,” and generally advocates for government in accordance with Islamic principles.
The movement has as a broad goal unifying what it perceives as Muslim lands, from Spain to Indonesia, as a “caliphate.”
"Largely secular?" How's that working out? Not well, if you're a woman, according to the BBC:
Egypt women protesters forced to take 'virginity tests'
A
leading rights group says the Egyptian army arrested, tortured and forced women to take "virginity tests" during
protests earlier this month.
Amnesty International is calling on the authorities in Cairo to investigate.
It says
at least 18 female protesters were arrested after army officers cleared Tahrir Square on 9 March.
It says they were
then beaten, given electric shocks and strip searched.
"Forcing women to have ‘virginity tests’ is utterly unacceptable. Its purpose is to degrade
women because they are women," said Amnesty International. "All members of the medical profession must refuse to
take part in such so-called 'tests'."
20-year-old Salwa Hosseini told Amnesty International that
after she was arrested and taken to a military prison in Heikstep, she was made, with the other women, to take off all her
clothes to be searched by a female prison guard, in a room with two open doors and a window. During the strip search,
Salwa Hosseini said male soldiers were looking into the room and taking pictures of the naked women.
The women
were then subjected to ‘virginity tests’ in a different room by a man in a white coat. They were threatened
that “those not found to be virgins” would be charged with prostitution.
Hey,
wait a minute! Wasn't NPR looking at taking Muslim Brotherhood money? Yeah, their two top fundraisers even
went to lunch with them! Remember that video? Yeah, I remember now! The NPR guy said
"The
Tea Party is fanatically involved in people's personal lives and very fundamental Christian — I wouldn't
even call it Christian. It's this weird evangelical kind of move."
Well, we've never pulled
women off the street for "virginity checks!"
By the way, please say a special prayer for Egypt's Copts....
Once we checked our bags, John and I were escorted by the Dignitary Protection Unit (DPU) guards right
around airport security. A TSA man looked at our passports and sent us on our way. No lines, no inspections,
no taking off shoes and jackets, no pulling laptops out of their cases. I had already put all of my little gels and
lotions into the customary plastic sandwich bag. As we whisked through, I sheepishly tucked them down into my attaché.
Rookie mistake. Who knew? (I fear this one thing, this whisking through airports, may spoil me beyond anything
else).
How nice. Carry a gun? Carry a bomb? Who knows! Who cares? Not
the ^%@$# TSA!
Remember: The purpose of TSA is not security; It's to show you that you are a subject
and not a citizen.
God, I miss America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!
In a conference call with reporters, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill just disclosed that she failed to pay $287,000 in property taxes related to her co-ownership of a private aircraft. This scandal comes quickly on the heels of recent revelations that McCaskill
improperly billed taxpayers for use of the same private aircraft, for which McCaskill reimbursed the Treasury $88,000....
Now, that's just about expected of our ruling masters (as Allahpundit points out). But just consider the scale of those numbers. How many years do you have to work to make the money that this
Master of All She Surveys failed to pay because of one airplane? How long must you work to make the $80,000 she spent
just on travel on just that one airplane?
Taxes ARE for the little people, yes. But those who are living-large
might have trouble realizing there is anything wrong with that statement.
All America is paying attention. NPR supporters all say: "Just listen a while! You'll see it's
fair!" So you'd think that NPR execs would make damned sure that NPR had only the highest quality in programming
and would go to extraordinary links to be fair.
You'd be wrong. Like a bum looking at a bottle of cheap rot-gut,
they just can't help themselves.
Let's all consider the things that recently occurred on a show called "Wait,
Wait, Don’t Tell Me," wherein the NPR producers told us all how they feel about conservatives, using Michelle Malkin
as a punching-bag in a "comedy" bit where they tell three stories, two of which are made-up, and a contestant tries
to discern which one is true. Via Michelle's post, Hey, NPR: Fund your own lame liberal humor — and leave my family alone, here's how that went down:
Mr. MAZ JOBRANI (Founder, Axis of Evil Comedy Tour): Conservative commentator
and Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin has expressed her fear that there are Muslims amongst us who are hiding their true
identity. The most prominent, she claims, being Barack Obama. However, when she set out to find proof of these undercover
Muslims, she found more than she bargained for.
It turns out that there are, indeed, some Muslims hiding their identity
to fly under the radar. The most pertinent one for Malkin being her own grandfather.
(Soundbite of laughter)*
*[MM NOTE: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CANNED LAUGH TRACK]
Mr. JOBRANI: Yes, Grandpa Malkin, who is from the Philippines
but lives with Michelle’s parents, had not told the family about his religion for fear of being ostracized and thrown
out. “Do you know how hard it is to pray five times a day when your family doesn’t know?”
(Soundbite
of laughter)*
*[MM NOTE: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CANNED LAUGH TRACK]
Mr. JOBRANI: “I had to excuse myself to
the bathroom every time I wanted to pray.”
(Soundbite of laughter)*
*[MM NOTE: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CANNED
LAUGH TRACK]
Mr. JOBRANI: “And the ham dinners, don’t get me started on the ham dinners.”
(Soundbite
of laughter)*
**[MM NOTE: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CANNED LAUGH TRACK]
Mr. JOBRANI: Malkin was in shock when her grandfather
revealed his true identity to her. He explained that he had been closeted Muslim for too long and it was time for him to
live his life and be happy with himself. Malkin used the revelation to confirm her argument that Muslims are taking over.
First they wanted the youth, and now they’re going after my grandfather? My 90-year-old grandfather? This is sick.
(Soundbite of laughter)*
Hah, hah, let's pick on Michelle's family! [For the record, it's
ALL false and Michelle has never thought Obama to be a Muslim.]
Trouble is, Michelle's family is busy right now,
trying to find Michelle’s cousin, Marizela Perez, who has been missing since March 5. A 30-second perusal of her site would reveal this. But that takes a brain, a heart,
and a soul.
NPR: Leaders with no brains, comedians with no hearts, and shows without a soul.
But in the end--Americans at the pointy-end of the spear will be risking their lives. Always remember that.
Do nothing, say nothing, type nothing that will increase the chance that our men & women get killed. That's
what the lefties have been doing since 'Nam, and don't you dare join them!
I for one stand behind our duly-elected
President in his role as Commander in Chief. May God guide his decisions.
When A Tea Partier did LESS it was a MAJOR News Item!
Remember when a Tea Partier brought weapon to an event? Huge news! Much punditry and gnashing of teeth at how
dangerous, and wacko he was. Even though it was all quite legal.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Wisconsin Senate Republican Dan Kapanke has called off public meetings in his
La Crosse area district, after his property was vandalized and had death threats.
His chief of staff Rose Smyrski tells
the La Crosse Tribune that Kapanke's car window was broken in Madison. And nails were scattered in the driveway of his
house on La Crosse's French Island.
She's quoting THIS. I especially "like" (as in not really) both "NOTICE – YOUR CITY OF MADISON PRIVILEGES
HAVE BEEN REVOKED" and that they published her home address. Follow that link and read all of their threats and
demands. I see flat-out TERRORISM and EXTORTION.
I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER WORD
ABOUT TEA PARTIES BEING DANGEROUS!
1. Do you think of Republicans and the Tea Party as dangerous, violent extremists?
2. Do you think the Wisconsin protests over GOP Governor Scott Walker’s move to strip public sector employees
of collective bargaining were peaceful?
3. Do you scoff at the right wing notion that mainstream media like the
New York Times, the TV networks and NPR have a liberal media bias against the conservatives?
If you answered ‘yes’
to all three of those questions, then let me ask you one more …
Why isn’t the mainstream media talking
about the death threats against Republican politicians in Wisconsin?
Be careful what you wish for, because sometimes you get it, and get it good and hard! The leftists and the "Hate
America First" crowd and the much vaunted "International Community" all wished for an end to America's
taking the lead, especially seeking the end of the much-reviled "Cowboy Diplomacy." So we gave them Obama, the do-nothing
wonder.
Brian Dunn, at The Dignified Rant, is pointing this out in Life Without America:
Libya is turning out to be an interesting test case about how the world can get by without we damned
Americans taking the lead and mucking things up.
Our president may say we are "tightening the noose"
around Khaddafi, but the facts on the ground say otherwise. So what if more and more people declare in somber and serious
tones that they don't like Khaddafi? And even the boldest suggestions in the sainted international community conference
rooms for action--a "UN" (read that, "tell the Americans to do it") no-fly zone--fall short on two
facts: one, Russia or China will veto it in the Security Council to avoid a precedent; and two, a no-fly zone will have
no appreciable impact on the course of the fighting.
. . .
Again, I'm not saying we should openly intervene
with a couple divisions. I think we have effective covert alternatives to that, although the chances they will work are
diminishing as time goes on (although we may be doing them even as we speak, I suppose). But my point is that without our
leadership pressing for action, we are seeing how the sainted international community reacts to a madman at war with his
people without the leadership of America. The world community already knows how to talk--how do we add to that?
Libya is the first test of how a post-America world can handle the threats to world peace. How's that working out
so far? Are you really ready to say that DNI Clapper is dim-witted for telling a Senate committee that Khaddafi
will probably win this civil war?
Yep, the Libyan people are getting a "diminished American
role" good and hard. God help them, because neither a neutered Europe no their "Arab Brothers" can be
bothered.
Speaking of the DOD...Who knew Hollywood could still make a great movie about the line Marine? The new movie,
Battle: Los Angeles is very respectful to the USMC and one hell of a ride!
No NPR detractor has thus far provided a case this compelling - due both to the force of its arguments
and the significance of the person offering them - for a reexamination of the organization's federal funding.
. . . Whether we articulate it or not, public radio, at its heart, has a feeling of being
family, of having created a culture. Those of us who have worked our careers to shape and build this industry - I think I'm
not alone when I say I feel as though we are brothers and sisters, we are as a family. The crisis we're facing threatens
this culture we have created. . . . We have built an extraordinary franchise. It didn't happen by accident.
It happened because we used a very specific methodology to cultivate and build an audience. For years, in boardrooms, at conferences,
with funders, we have talked about our highly educated, influential audience. We pursued David Giovannoni's methodologies.
We all participated. It was his research, his undaunted, clear strategy that we pursued to build the successful news journalism
franchise we have today.
What happened as a result is that we unwittingly cultivated a core audience that is predominately
white, liberal, highly educated, elite. "Super-serve the core" - that was the mantra, for many, many years. This
focus has, in large part, brought us to our success today. It was never anyone's intention to exclude anyone.
Inclusion?
Ah, yes, the holy grail of the liberals (whom NPR serves). As one of the 89% (!!!!) who has not been "served"
by NPR, yeah--I've been feeling excluded.
Not your intention? BULL-FORNICATING-SCAT!
For how many years have we been complaining about NPR ignoring us and belittling us and slanting their coverage against us?
I only have so many fingers and toes, so a neolithic non-NPR fan like me can no longer count the years.
NPR was
still ignoring and belittling us just last week! (Well, their chief fundraisers were, and that's pretty high up
the totem pole!)
No more! They had their chance. They blew it. The had another. They blew it.
The had another. They blew it. No more tax money to an organization that a board member admits serves only 11%.
especially when it's the 11% that hate me the most!
In a battle
of wits and facts? No contest! Mary Katherine over Michael, like a modern carrier battle group vs. a fleet of
Roman triemes. It's HAMMERTIME!
This week, Michael Moore offered a simple and elegant solution to our debt problem.
Calling the assets
of wealthy Americans a “national resource,” he suggested our problems would all be solved if we could just have
access to all that money.
“What’s happened is that we’ve allowed the vast majority of that cash
to be concentrated in the hands of just a few people, and they’re not circulating that cash. They’re sitting
on the money,” Moore said. “That’s not theirs, that’s a national resource, that’s ours. We
all have this… we all benefit from this or we all suffer as a result of not having it.”
“America’s
not broke,” he told a cheering crowd of pro-union protesters in Wisconsin.
So, we decided to try Moore’s
solution. Laying aside the moral objections to the government simply appropriating the wealth of private citizens, could
it work?
In a word: No.
The grand total of the combined net worth of
every single one of America’s billionaires is roughly $1.3 trillion. It does indeed sound like a “ton of cash”
until one considers that the 2011 deficit alone is $1.6 trillion. So, if the government were to simply confiscate the entire net worth of all of America’s billionaires, we’d
still be $300 billion short of making up this year’s deficit.
"Why do you have a right to your money?" That's the question asked by a union-ish protester of
the Tea Partier. At 26 seconds into this clip, the guy on the right begins "Every Dollar that I have
to pay in taxes..." At 28 seconds, the guy on the left interrupts with "Why do yo have a right to your money?"
(via Moonbattery):
So, those who are being very greedy about not losing their own money (public
sector unions) don't see that you have a right to keep yours? Kinda makes things clear.
Guess what happens when you illegally tow the car of a young lady who's father is the #1 talk radio host in town?
Oh, and "Dad" just happens to work for a company that not only owns the radio station, but also has a TV station
and is closely affiliated with the newspaper. So, you lie to "Dad" and give him hard time and charge him hundreds
of bucks.
Not Smart. Guess what his show's topic was the next day?
Should you wonder if this little
sting has anything to do with that?
SAN ANTONIO - When you park in some places around San Antonio, there's a good chance you're being watched.
There are people waiting to disable your car, tow it off and charge big money to give it back.
In a hidden camera investigation,
News 4 WOAI Trouble Shooter Jaie Avila exposes the aggressive tactics being used by one towing company that are against state
rules.
Thanks, Pags! You pushed that for all of us who don't have such resources to fight these
bustards.
Via HotAir. Remember Ray Stevens? He did the songs "Ahab the Arab," and "The Streak?"
HotAir points out he also did "Everything is Beautiful." Well, now it seems he must have run afoul of the
TSA Groin Grabbers:
All those warnings about violent Tea Parties? They were right about the violence, just wrong about which crowd would
devolve into a violent mob. Mobs have a nasty streak. They get out of hand and violent very, very quickly.
Watch this, from Dane101.com:
If Democrat State Representative Brett Hulsey had not been there to rescue
him...there is no doubting that State Senator Glenn Grothman would have taken a beating. AT A MINIMUM. Rep. Hulsey
barely manages to calm them down as it was. Play it again at the six minute point. Listen to what the crowd is
yelling back at him.
They chanted "Shame! Shame! Shame!" But these people should all be ashamed of
themselves! Only a few of them are. God help us all when the crowd loses them, too.
Mobs are nasty, brutish,
and unthinking. After weeks of "Walker = Mubarack" and "Walker is a dictator" and walker-as-Hitler
signs and all that crap--the protester have degenerated into a mob. The rhetoric has been WAY over the top. Emotions
take over and spark lights fire lights blaze lights violence.
It's over folks. Go home before
you kill somebody. Yeah, I'm serious, because that's what's coming. You almost did that today.
Unless the next guy is armed, then there will be more than one death. Go home. Lives depend on it (maybe yours).
Oh--and where the &^#@%$ were the police? Chanting with their union brothers or what?
