The San Antonio Tea Party holds it's big meetings about every other month, usually on the first Sunday, at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch, 13715
FM 1560 N, Helotes, 78023 (Click here for a map). Keep an eye HERE or the SATP calendar for updates! Consider also attending a neighborhood group--that's where the action is!
Election Day is one week from tomorrow, but with the modern trend in absentee ballots cast early it may
be decided by then. This election will be decided in large part by the ground game. Who can get voters to the polls. You may
be certain that in nearly every election, state or local, there will be enough people to have changed the outcome who did
not vote, but would have voted for the losing candidate had they bothered. That has been true in most US elections, and it
will be true in this one.
Which means, simply, that this week -- all of it, not just next Tuesday -- is a time
for maximum effort for the Tea Party. It is time to harvest the votes. It is time to find the local tea party people and volunteer.
If every tea party enthusiast got just one more person who shares their sentiments to the polls, the result will be a landslide.
One more vote per precinct will be important. This is a maximum effort election, and this week is maximum effort week.
What the tea party needs is a landslide, not just a win: the purpose is to put some iron in the spine of wavering
Republicans, who will, shortly after the election, be subject to every seductive move in the liberal arsenal, including offers
from the New York Times to praise them for their "growth" when they succumb to the blandishments of the "cross
the aisle" arguments. If the tea party wins its close elections, the message will be clear; and it needs to be clear.
Any close election will be contested, with recount after recount until the result is what the ruling class wants.
The only cure for this is a landslide.
This is why I INSISTED that SATP have a *No Tolerance for violence* policy
Back when I was Chairman of the San Antonio Tea Party, I insisted on only a few things. In many matters the rest of
the Committee overruled me on some policies. But I insisted on no toleration for violence.
That was to avoid
crap like this: http://althouse.blogspot.com/2010/10/finally-some-good-news-for-democrats.html UPDATE, 27 Oct: Then again...this new video shows the boitch charging at him--twice. The first time through viewing it, I missed that she circled around the car
to charge at him from the front as he exited the car. After the second charge, SHE DESERVED TO BE TAKEN DOWN and perhaps
held down until the police arrive. See for yourself --
The Lilly Livered, Lenin Loving Liberal Liars have tried to sell us
a bill of goods! As Instapundit reminds us, we should always have lots of cameras running at events. You cannot
trust Katie Couric (of "the great unwashed" fame) to be fair in covering the news!
Saturday, October 30th, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Kercheville and Company, 15750 IH 10 West @ Loop
1604. This will be a time to rally the faithful and plan the final assault to GET OUT THE VOTE in this critical election!
More details to follow!
Or be Square! (And ignored and over-taxed and over-regulated . . . .)
Met judge Renee McElhaney, of the 73rd District Court today and had an more-than-brief conversation. I was impressed
with her philosophy and her work ethic.
Finally recorded an episode of CNN's new show, "Parker Spitzer." It stars Pulitzer-winning RINO, Kathleen Parker and the disgraced ex-governor of NY, Elliott Spitzer (of call girl fame). Their guests for Friday night's show were Naomi Wolfe (of "Turn Al Gore into an Alpha Male" fame) and John Avlon of "The Daily Beast" (where RINO Meghan McCain blogs). It was two hard-core lefties and two squshy RINOs.
Lord, it was as awful as I'd heard!
Then, they did an interview with Richard Viguerie of ConservativeHQ.com. He told it like it is:
VIGUERIE: Kathleen, all due respect, in the last 10 days or so, I have been watching
this show, I would change vanilla to more distilled water. I've not heard you say, an ideological thought that disagrees
with Eliot.
PARKER: Well, I'm not an ideologue, I'm not an ideologue, that's why.
VIGUERIE:
No, that's right. So, that was my point in the article there, that seeing -- says they play it down the middle. Nobody
that I know, literally no one in the Republican conservative right of center community sees CNN as playing it down the middle.
We see it as, you know, left of center.
PARKER: Well, they hired me to balance that out. And, you know, I have
a very bad habit of being polite, because I'm southern, but I am getting rude -- I'm getting ruder by the minute,
and pretty soon I'm going to take him down, OK?
VIGUERIE: I married a southern girl. I understand that.
SPITZER: Here's the thing. Here's what you said. And first of all, Kathleen is not only not plain vanilla,
she is acerbic, she's smart, and her critiques are devastating, but we'll get to that over the course of this show.
VIGUERIE: I'd just like for her to express some conservative thoughts.
PARKER: Just let me in.
(Too
late, ya Bimbo! You are NOT "balancing that out." Not by a long shot!)
Next, they attack
Dick Cheney.
Then, they were going to bring on the excreble Andrew Sullivan of Palin Derangement infamy). Ugh, that is just too much! I QUIT WATCHING!
This is NOT a show you want to watch.
Maybe they'll get it straight, now that they fired the idiot who set up and pushed this disaster. Do save yourself
and avoid this idiocy.
A glad thing it will be, indeed, to look at the long, sad faces of the "journalists"
on the night of 2 November. Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth that shall go on off camera! You know how those
"journalists" are, right? So fair, so independent. So willing to shove those who ask hard questions
out of the way, so willing to tell them to "go away." So willing to threaten them ("Let him finish or
I'll deck you!") in order to protect thier man:
MyLovelyWife and I will be joining Julia "Sgt Mom,"
her daughter Jeanne "Sgt Cpl Blondie," and perhaps Eric Green for a small dinner celebration on Election Night.
It's been a long road getting here!
The Federal Reserve spent the past three decades getting inflation low and keeping it there. But as the U.S.
economy struggles and flirts with the prospect of deflation, some central bank officials are publicly broaching a controversial
idea: lifting inflation above the Fed's informal target.
The rationale is that getting inflation up even temporarily
would push "real" interest rates—nominal rates minus inflation—down, encouraging consumers and businesses
to save less and to spend or invest more.
As Instapundit puts it: The country is in the very best of hands.
Kick them out on Election Day and then AUDIT THE FED!
Took my lovely bride of 30-years to see a movie yesterday. "You Again," stars Kristen Bell, Jamie Leigh Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Odette Yustman.
Very funny and touching.
But the ending is TOTALLY unbelieveable and out of synch with what went on just minutes before (or, just hours before, in
the timeline of the movie).
SPOILER ALERT!
In the story, Yustman's character, Joanna, had been the
one who'd made Bell's character, Marni, miserable in high school. Joanna is marrying Marni's brother and
pretending she doesn't recognize Marni. Oh, but she does! For instance, switching the music in the car to
"We are the Champions" as a reminder to Marni that she has "No time for losers!"
Near the end,
at the big bridal shower party, Joanna give Marni a "gift" that is also a put-down/slap in the face. Then,
in the bathroom, Marni asks her for just a simple apology. That's all she wants. Joanna gives her the brush
off and another SEVERE put down.
So, Marni unleashes the ultimate weapon--a video Joanna made in HS showing what
a mean bitch she was to the losers, with teenaged Marni as the star loser.
Suddenly Joanna is a victim. She
"tried so hard to change!" She "just wanted to start over!" Of course, this being a Disney
film, Marni and Joanna reconcile, Marni convinces her brother that he and Joanna belong together, and the wedding
goes on. Everyone is so happy!
Just absolute total bull crap.
PEOPLE DON'T CHANGE THEIR NATURE!
No, I don't buy it. Not even with "susoension of disbelief." The Joanna in the movie hasn't
really changed. The way she put Marni in her place in the bath scene shows that. In a few years, maybe months,
Joanna will be back on the snide side, putting Marni down, down, down. And God help Marni's brother, for he has
married a once and future bitch. The poor bastard!
PEOPLE DON'T CHANGE THEIR NATURE!
Even
the great example, Saul the Christian hunting zelot becoming Paul the Apostle, did not involve a basic change. Both
were zelots to God's will. When Paul learned better what God's will was, he got with the new program.
But he was still a zealot.
Politicians don't change their nature, either. Big spending, big government
loving, pork barrell grabbing politicians will always be so. Republican or Democrat, they will not change. They
must be voted out for our country to have a chance to recover. OUT WITH ALL OF THEM!
