The mighty Diane Eagan passed this to me:

Thus Sayeth Joni

Joni (founder of the San Antonio Tea Party who later handed things to me and founded the Boerne Tea Party) is supporting Scott Taylor for Congress in Virginia's 2nd Congressional district.  She sent a link to his website:

Consider donating $10 to this candidate for Congress.  We need to send a message to them about what kind of representatives we want!  Read all about him on his web page.

http://www.scotttaylorforcongress.com/

What I found interesting was at this page on his site:

Article from Human Events. Found here http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=36961

Scott Rigell, running as the favorite of the GOP establishment in the Republican primary in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, donated $1,000 to Barack Obama, according to opensecrets.com, a research group that tracks money in politics.

“Rigell was one of the highest Obama donors in the zip code,” Scott Taylor told HUMAN EVENTS. Taylor, a former Navy SEAL and local business owner, is also running in the Republican primary.

Taylor, whose campaign slogan is “Send a SEAL not a RINO,” said Rigell “didn’t even vote in the Republican primary, and then gave $1,000 to Barack Obama on March 10,” 2008.

Seriously -- what more do you need to know?

TURF

Attended the Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom (TURF) summit this weekend on behalf of the SATP. TURF is the state-wide orgainzation started by Terri Hall, who also founded the San Antonio Toll Party.

Terri presented a LOT of slides, quickly, and they were filled with information.  I could not possibly take notes that quickly.   It was like drinking from a firehose! Folks from many organizations were there, including the Libertarian Party and several Tea Parties.

There was SO MUCH information!  Some highlights (just a few!):

  • The Trans Texas Corridor is NOT dead.  It's renamed and being done in pieces.
  • The Trans Texas Corridor, as planned, will take over 908 square miles!
  • Governor Perry's son, Griffin, works for UBS, a financial arm of the foreign-owned ACS consortium
  • "Innovative Financing" is NOT a Free Market solution, it's a code word for tolling and using public money to fund projects providing private profit
  • Democrats are not our enemy on this subject.; Jim Dunham, head of the Democratic Caucus, has been a real friend to those against tolls
  • Libowitz never quits when it comes to fighting tolls
  • There will be a new Federal highway bill in the fall.  Uniting in fighting it will be AAA, RV owners, and truckers
  • The "Sunset Review" process is coming again.  Hearings are set for December 2010.
  • There are "Interim Committees" meeting now in Austin.  Their reports will influence early bills when session starts.  TURF is worried about monitoring them.
  • Terri explaned in detail how the process in Austin works -- and how it's rigged to result in tolls
  • The non-elected Texas Board can and does ignore the public
  • "There is no money for roads" REALLY MEANS "We've already committed all the money for toll roads!"
  • Existing Toll roads are  not paying for themselves and will have to be bailed out.
  • New toll roads will be in even worse shape because the "cream of the crop" is already taken (and they are failing!)
  • The contracts will protect the companies and require taxpayers to make good on the guaranteed profits
  • Texas is using borrowed money to fund toll roads, raising the total price and raising the risk the need for taxpayer bailouts later
They also showed the newest version of "Truth Be Tolled," which has not been released yet.  It documents the amazing process by which this is all being pushed.  Most amazing.

You should all get onto TURF's mailing list.  Lots of bad stuff we need to stop going on in Austin!

Happy

Well, thanks for nothing folks -- nobody reminded me!

Here's my entry:

The Prophet Bears His Message.JPG

Who knows what he looked like? Who cares! What matters is the message he bore. Muhammad carried a message of war, that's the important part!

A friend of mine did one, too.  He see's Muhammad "as  a big zero."  His entry, taken from HERE:

The Planned Parenthood Muder Movie

OK, so this is old.  But it's still important!  Check out the mini-movie the San Francisco area Planned Parenthood folks did --drownings, explosions, and murder!  Just a few minutes and all in the "good cause" of handing out condoms....

It's Planned Parenthood's Superhero of Choice!

Do stick around for the credits.  Gotta love the beheading of the protester and the crash of the helicopter!

And they say the Tea Parties are violent.  Just imagine what US Senators would say!  Yet, I propvided this to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's office staff--in multiple forms, including personally handing them a disk with the video on it--and never heard a word more from them about it.  Guess she wasn't interested.

Anyway . . . .

The State of the San Antonio Tea Party

The San Antonio Tea Party (SATP) held a General Meeting yesterday at the Magic Time Machine.  About 85 people were there at its peak.

The Treasurer's report was not totally disheartening.  Cash on hand minus bills leaves a little over $1,300.  That beats the $20,000 uncovered debt it once had!

What was disheartening was the lack of certain people.  I fear the libertarian side has abandoned the SATP.  Signs of this included the fact that there were maybe three people there who were under the age of 30.  When one speaker asked "how many of you are over fifty?" a LOT of hands went up.

This is a real problem.  While the old-style religious conservatives are feeling comfortable among their fellows, what was there the welcome the libertarians?  Not much.  There hasn't been in a while, and so they stayed away in droves.

Need to work on that.  What will it take to make the SATP whole again?  I fear many will not like the answer.

Do I have a personal problem with multiple prayers?  No, for I share the beliefs of many religious conservatives.  But some do.  SATP is a political organization that has morphed into a religious one.

Do I have a personal problem with prayers that end with "...in Jesus' name?"  No, for I do believe in Christ the Messiah.  But some do.   SATP is a political organization that has morphed into a Charismatic-Christian one.  I know there were at least two Jews there.  Good people; too bad we can't pray together now.

Do I have a problem with advocating support for border enforcement and supporting Arizona against attacks over its new law?  No, I agree with that whole-heartedly.   But some do.

Do I problems with any of the other "Tiger Team" issues?  No, but for each one of them, some do.

As SATP has purified itself it has become weaker.  The then "Executive Committee" fought this battle over a year ago, just before the 2009 Tax Day event.  I argued then that taking on social issues such as abortion and border control would weaken SATP.  I was over-ruled.

The Committee then was wrong and the Board now is wrong in persuing these.  SATP needs to go back to focusing on its core issue:  STOP THE RECKLESS SPENDING AND GROWTH OF GOVERNMENT!  16,000 showed up at the Alamo to unite behind that message.

But They Don't Even Read Their OWN Laws!

Found this at Hot Air and I love it!  Colud it be any more clear?  Attorney General Eric Holder spens LOTS of time on TV talking about how Arizona's new immigration enforcement law is unconstitutional.  But when under oath, he has to admit he's never read the thing.  Not that it's some 2,000+ page monstrosity, mind you.  Really, there is no excuse.

Check out the CSPAN video and fast forward to 2:46:00.  Congressman Poe asks "Have you read the bill...?"

We just have to keep telling them:  READ THE BILL!

The Latest from Pamela Gellar

Pamela Gellar, who runs Atlas Shrugs, is also a contributer to Big Government. She's been busy.

1.  In Sanctioning Barbarity: American Academy of Pediatrics and the New York Times (at Big Government), she discusses how our some of doctors have lost their minds:

According to the New York Times, the American Academy of Pediatrics last week advocated that American doctors be allowed to stick girls' clitorises with a needle so as to satisfy Muslim and African families' demand for female genital mutilation: "It might be more effective if federal and state laws enabled pediatricians to reach out to families by offering a ritual nick as a possible compromise to avoid greater harm."

Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY) commented on the danger of this: "I am sure the academy had only good intentions, but what their recommendation has done is only create confusion about whether F.G.M. is acceptable in any form, and it is the wrong step forward on how best to protect young women and girls. F.G.M. serves no medical purpose, and it is rightfully banned in the U.S."

Do read the whole thing.  (Aside:  Contrary to Moonbat beliefs, it is possible to recognize Democrats who do good.)

2.  In SIOA Rally Calls for Halt to Plans for Ground Zero Mosque, over at Atlas Shrugs, her attention turns from disgusting barbarity to disgusting insult.

NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The human rights group Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) is hosting a rally at Ground Zero to protest the construction of a mosque at the site of the Islamic terror attack that brought down the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

Now, if that dosen't set your blood to boiling hot I just have to ask -- what in the Hell is wrong with you?  Anyway . . . .  Pamela is also the director of SIOA.  Busy, busy!

3.  In commenting on the Muslim attack of an artist over in Sweden (Artist Attacked by Muslims During Free Speech Lecture UPDATE: VIDEO ALLAHU AKBAR!), she asks a most reasonable question:

The rise of Islam.

Can someone, anyone, point me to the plus side of this new equation? What is the upside to the islamization of the West? Name one thing.

Good point, that.  Do see the video of the attack -- and the crowd after the attack.  Such nice people, these would-be throat slicers.  Like the artist's neighbor (pre-formatted; this may look a bit funny):

from CNN....

One Swedish Muslim woman who lives just an hour-and-a-half drive from Vilks said she hopes to make good on the al Qaeda threat and slaughter Vilks like a lamb.
"I can do this in the name of Allah, and I will not fail. I could slaughter him in the name of Allah," says the woman who identified herself only as Amatullah. She adds, "If I get the opportunity."
Dressed in a black burqa from head to toe and uttering death threat after death threat, the woman -- a wife and mother -- says she is defending her religion and her prophet if she manages to kill Vilks.
Amatullah has already been fined for issuing death threats. Still, she claims she will never stop taunting him.

There is of course many more items of interest that time doesn't allow me to mention.

Raquel Welch, Sex Goddess, Issues a Warning

Like many a young man from the late 60's, I've lusted after Raquel Welch for many a long year.  Who'd have thought she had a brain to go with her looks? She has a new book out, and now an opinion piece at CNN:

As a result of the example set by their elders, by the 1990s teenage sexual promiscuity -- or hooking up -- with multiple partners had become a common occurrence. Many of my friends who were parents of teenagers sat in stunned silence several years ago when it came to light that oral sex had become a popular practice among adolescent girls in middle schools across the country.

The 13-year-old daughter of one such friend freely admitted to performing fellatio on several boys at school on a regular basis. "Aw come on, Mom. It's no big deal. Everyone is doing it," she said. Apparently, since it's not the act of intercourse, kids don't count it as sex. Can any sane person fail to make a judgment call about that?

Seriously, folks, if an aging sex symbol like me starts waving the red flag of caution over how low moral standards have plummeted, you know it's gotta be pretty bad. In fact, it's precisely because of the sexy image I've had that it's important for me to speak up and say: Come on girls! Time to pull up our socks! We're capable of so much better.

Indeed,ma'am.  Carry on your good work!

The Pleasanton, TX Tea Party!

Lisa Ann tells me there's TEA brewing!

Some folks here is Pleasanton are trying to kick off a Tea Pary, Here is a copy of the email I received. Maybe some of you all might want to come.

Dear South Texas Tea Partiers (and / or prospective):

Our next meeting is May 10th and 7pm at Stagestop Restaurant. We encourage everyone, who is able, to order something to patronize the restaurant because they are allowing us to meet there. If you plan to eat you are welcome to come at 6:30 if you like. Some of us will be there at that time. We will start the meeting at 7 sharp and try to keep it to 1 hour.

At our last meeting we agreed on a few things (I think):

1. To include Medina and Atascosa Counties (and now maybe Frio and others)

2. Therefore to name the group 'South Texas Tea Party'.

3. To set up a Facebook account (been done).

4. To accept the following principles:

Issues:

For our government to -

1. Follow the constitution

2. Follow the rule of law

3. To enforce it's sovereignty by ensuring the national defense and enforcing the borders.

4. Follow fiscal responsibility by not spending more than it takes in.

5. Establish free markets.

6. And, that ALL meetings will be held in good taste and in an orderly fashion, with no exception.

7. No social issues. They are important but our country is at stake in the next election and we must all come together.

The first meeting was established by word of mouth. The final thing we decided was to go public with the invitation on the second meeting. An ad (and hopefully a press release) will run this week in Atascosa and Medina Counties about this Monday's meeting.

So, the purpose of this meeting is the same as the first one (organizational) but testing to see if the desire is broad enough to move forward with the organization. We think it is. We will see Monday night.

All are invited and welcome who share these goals.

Patriots? Had enough? Think our country has been thrown overboard by Congress? It is time to let your congressmen know!

Come and let your voice be heard.

Bob Hurley

Ps: Please forward this email to anyone you think is interested.

You MUST See This

OK, I can understand if you don't want to watch 8 minutes of screaming commies.  But you really NEED to see certain parts.  Really short on time?  Start at 6:53.

At about 40 seconds:  See the "AZ Gov == Hitler"  and hear the friendly words of the gent thrusting his finger in the air.

At about 48 seconds:  See the young woman with the Aztlan shirt stick her tongue out, flash her finger, and say "Get educated, bitch!"

At 1:10:  Note the picture of the mass-murderer Che on the sign as they chant "racists go home!"

At 1:40:  Note the  Che sign as they try to get past the cops.

At 1:44:  Note the "gent" in long dark hair, wearing jeans and a dark T-shirt, who's holding a white sign and waving flags--the Mexican flag atop the US flag.

At 1:54:  See the cute couple!  Hear them!  More on them later....

At 4:01: Gotta love that special-made hammer & sickle flag!

At 4:05:  Really gotta love "America was founded by immagrants" (whatever the hell they are).

At 4:16:   You'll like this lady being interviewed.  God Bless her!

At 6:53:  START HERE IF YOU DIDN'T ALREADY!  Everyone--EVERYONE--needs to see it from this point on!

It only gets worse . . .

Here's an interesting little tidbit to update the "You Can't Show the US Flag at School" controversy:

High School Where Flag Flap Occurred Hides Racist Secret

. . . Mr. Boden and Mr. Rodriguez preside over a high school with various clubs and organizations. As administrators, they must sanction these activities. There is the Anime Club, the Asian Student Union, the Black Student Union, the Drama Guild, the Chess Club, MEChA, the Patriot Club, and a raft of other extracurricular activities from which student can chose to participate. Shockingly, one of these groups is a borderline hate group that proclaims racial supremacy. While it may come as a shock to some of our more "progressive" readers, the oppressors are not the Patriot Club, but the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán, or MEChA.
. . .
Critics of MEChA claim that the organization is little more than a racial supremacist group seeking to carve out a country of their own, to be inhabited by their own race.

Wait a minute - that wasn't from critics; it was a direct quote from the official MEChA website:

As Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán, we are a nationalist movement of Indigenous Gente that lay claim to the land that is ours by birthright. As a nationalist movement we seek to free our people from the exploitation of an oppressive society that occupies our land. Thus, the principle of nationalism serves to preserve the cultural traditions of La Familia de La Raza and promotes our identity as a Chicana/Chicano Gente.

MEChA is a paranoid, racist, nationalist group that seeks to claim northern Mexico and the southwestern United States as a nation called Aztlán. Principal Borden and Assistant Principal Rodriguez have allowed their school to be infiltrated by a seditious supremacist group.

Why are they still employed?

Good question.

Same goes for the jerk in this 2007 video of racist speech who's still a High School teacher in Los Angeles.  Now,if he'd been in a Tea Party, he'd have been fired for less!

Of course, in the former case, a non-apology "apology" is all it takes, as noted by Hot Air.

Boiling Blood -- MINE!

ITEM THE FIRST:  You've probably heard about the kids sent home from school for daring to wear the American Flag on the high holy day of Mexicans who don't live in Mexico, Cinco De Mayo.  But don't just rely on rumors, make sure you know the details.

Five Morgan Hill students sent home for wearing American flag T-shirts

The boys were told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home - and that it would not be considered a suspension - but that Rodriguez did not want any fights to break out among Mexican-American students and those wearing American flags. Dariano said other students were wearing American flags but since they were a group of five "we were the easiest target to cause trouble" according to Rodriguez, he said.

The boys told Rodriguez and Boden that turning their T-shirts inside-out was disrespectful, so their parents opted to take them home.

"I just couldn't believe it," said Dominic's mother Julie Fagerstrom. "I'm an open-minded parent, but it's got to be on both sides. It can't be five kids singled out."
. . .
One Mexican-American student, freshman Laura Ponce, had a Mexican flag painted on her face and chest, peaking out of her low-cut shirt. She did it because, "it's our day, the only day we can show our spirit." A school administrator took away the Mexican flag she was carrying as she was waiting to go home. Ponce said: "not cool."

"There was a lot of drama going on today," Ponce said. Some were saying "Mexico sucks" while Mexican-American students responded in their second language.

"Some were yelling Spanish to us," Maciel said, who is half-Hispanic. "I couldn't understand it, but it sounded bad."

Some Mexican-American students said that their flags were taken away or asked to be put away, but none were sent home for wearing red, white and green. Since Boden would not comment, it's uncertain if any other students were sent home for what they were wearing on Cinco de Mayo.

Live Oak High School even hosted a group of professional baile folklorico dancers, who waved flags and played traditional music from Mexico.

Official waving of the Mexican flag="good," un-official wearing of the American flag="Bad."  Uh-huh.

But wait!  There's more thanks to Zombie:

Make sure to watch the video at the KTVU link (http://www.ktvu.com/news/23470391/detail.html), because it shows clearly that the kids were not troublemakers, not "racists," and not looking to start a fight. One of the five kids, Dominic Maciel, was himself of Hispanic heritage.

. . .

So here we have the Principal and the Vice-Principal of an American high school treating the Stars and Stripes as if it was a gang bandanna; even worse, the school administrators took sides in this imaginary US-vs.-Mexico gang fight by allowing the widespread display of Mexican flags on campus but banning (under threat of punishment) any display of the American flag.

NBC quotes a fellow student:

"I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day," Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. "We don't deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn't do that on Fourth of July."

Disrespected? I'm confused. Aren't all the students Americans? Who is being disrespected by the display of our shared national flag?

Let's pause for a moment and peel back the layers. It seems that many of the Hispanic students at Live Oak High (and probably innumerable other high schools across the country) have been so inculcated with an "identity politics" curriculum that, under the rubric of instilling pride and self-esteem, they have been convinced that they are somehow distinct from and separate from the other American students; that "we" feel disrespected when forced to perceive an American flag.

. . .

Furthermore, remember that Cinco de Mayo is actually a minor holiday in Mexico itself, commemorating a little-known military victory; Mexican Independence Day is on September 16, not May 5. In what way does the existence of a jolly holiday in one country necessitate self-flagellation in other countries? Do the people of Mongolia hang their heads in shame and hide their national flags on Thanksgiving - simply because some Americans in the vicinity might feel insulted that Mongolians still loved their country on an American holiday? The very idea is ridiculous. Yet that is exactly the attitude enforced by the administrators at Live Oak High in Morgan Hill.

ITEM THE SECOND:  Remember the fat guy on "Siskel & Ebert," giving us bad advice on movies?  At Roger Ebert Equates American Flag With Soviet Hammer & Sickle we learn he tweeted this:

Kids who wear American Flag t-shirts on May 5th should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer snd sickle on July 4th.

 To which John Nolte remarks:

My guess is that the only pause Ebert gave this Tweet was to worry about whether it was insulting to the Commies to equate the American flag with theirs.

The Internet really has been the gift that keeps on giving with the Roger Eberts of our world. With no editors or producers, no one intelligent between them and their moral illiteracy, they just can’t help but expose their true nature to the whole world.

God bless the SEND button.

My take:  Our kids DO have to put up with that non-sense.  Haven't you seen all those "Che" shirts?

ITEM THE THIRD:  Comedy Central is so very, very respectful of Islam.  But, not all religions are equal!

Comedy Central developing Jesus Christ cartoon

Comedy Central might censor every image of the Prophet Muhammad on "South Park," yet the network is developing a whole animated series around Jesus Christ.

Jesus-south-park As part of the network's upfront presentation to advertisers (full slate here), Comedy Central is set to announce "JC," a half-hour show about Christ wanting to escape the shadow of his "powerful but apathetic father" and live a regular life in New York City.

In the show, God is preoccupied with playing video games while Christ, "the ultimate fish out of water," tries to adjust to life in the big city.

"In general, comedy in purist form always makes some people uncomfortable," said Comedy Central's head of original programming Kent Alterman.

Sometimes I wish the New Testament had a command to slay the infidels....  But Jesus commanded no army; He murdered no husbands; He took no newly-made widows as sex slaves (forced concubines); he took no war booty; he beheaded no prisoners.  No wonder bastards like Alterman are afraid of Islam but not Christianity.

On Civility

There's a lot of noise from the left lately on the need for civility.  These Tea Parties are just ripe with the chance to explode with racism and violence, don't ya know!  Why there might even be use of the N-word against revered congressmen, or perhaps it was a Tea Partier who set the car bomb in Time Square.

Oh, and God forbid (as if they believed in Him) that anything like DEATH THREATS AGAINST THE PRESIDENT happen to Obama!  Oh, the horror that a lack of civility in the right could bring!

H-ucking F-ypocrites!

Speaking of hypocrisy, do note these turkeys who bash the new Arizona law.

If You Want To Be Happy

The words to that Jimmy Soul song make a lot of sense:

{Refrain}
If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

{Refrain}

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall
As soon as he marries her, then she starts
Doin' the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife
You'll be happy for the rest of your life
An ugly woman cooks your meals on time
An she'll always give you peace of mind

{Refrain}

Don't let your friends say you have no taste
Go ahead and marry anyway
Though her face is ugly and her eyes don't match
Take it from me, she's a better catch

{Refrain}

Now comes this study to confirm it, as reported by the Jammie Wearing Fool:  Study Shows Hitting on Hot Babes Can Be Extremely Stressful.

All that stress?  It's MyLovelyWife's fault!

The Mohammed Image Archive

Zombietime put together a huge collection of images of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Pictured called the Mohammed Image Archive:

The Mohammed Image Archive is a compendium of images that depict Mohammed (the 7th-century founder of Islam), spanning all historical periods, cultures and genres.

The inspiration for this Archive came from the global controversy over the publication of Mohammed cartoons in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, and the need for a comprehensive and even-handed look at the wide variety of Mohammed depictions in Islamic and Western societies from the Middle Ages until today. It will remain online as a resource for those interested in freedom of expression.

Free speech?  Can't be allowed if it is against a taboo!

Jolly old England is much "gay"-er and a bit less jolly.  Preacher arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin.  The idea is coming soon to a PC official near you!

Can't happen here, you say?  Is HARVARD close enough to "here" for you?  Imagine a private email suddenly gets released...that says in part, say, this:

I absolutely do not rule out the possibility that African Americans are, on average, genetically predisposed to be less intelligent. I could also obviously be convinced that by controlling for the right variables, we would see that they are, in fact, as intelligent as white people under the same circumstances. The fact is, some things are genetic. African Americans tend to have darker skin. Irish people are more likely to have red hair.

A simple, factual statement.  A "Show me the numbers from good, controlled studies and I can be convinced eitherway" sort of statement should cause no heartache at that bastion of free inquiry, Harvard, right?  Wrong.  That's not considering that this subject is TABOO!!!!!!!  You cannot talk about such things!  Who says so?  The lunatics at the  Harvard Black Law Student Association and the equally crazy Dean of Harvard Law School, Martha Minow:

Dear members of the Harvard Law School community:

I am writing this morning to address an email message in which one of our students suggested that black people are genetically inferior to white people.
. . .

Here's the problem -- the dean's first statement is a lie.  That is not what the poor SOB said.

Ah, but that's a taboo subject, so he deserves what he gets, whatever he said, right?  Serves him right!

Of course, some things aren't taboo, as the Volokh conspiracy points out.  Do check out that list.
